This was a neat little story. I really liked the art and the music and the tension of the situation and the ambiguity of Egaeus's motives. Egaeus reacting differently to you giving either her name or Berenice's at the start was a nice touch.
Great aesthetics in this; love the sprites and the backgrounds. The story has such a creepy atmosphere that keeps building until its inevitable conclusion... I love the way that the full extent of the protagonist's loss of agency was revealed, the whole situation is just so creepy! Love to see more toxic T4T in the jam~!
There is always a need for good toxic t4t! Its very nice to hear that the building tension and creepiness came through as strong as we intended them to and that you enjoyed your time with our story, it means more than we can say that you picked it up and read it. Thank you for playing our first game <333
I expected to like this VN a lot based on the themes alone, and it didn't disappoint! I enjoyed both the writing and the art here. I felt steady tension throughout the story, and found Berenice's emotions easy to understand and empathize with. I adored the characters' facial expressions, the harsh lighting (especially in the lab), and the heavy use of yellow-green that felt both medicinal and deadly. While the title does give away the mystery, I found that the final reveal had twists to it that surprised me, and they were wonderfully toxic. Thank you for making this game!
Both of us were extremely excited to receive this review from you. We are delighted to hear that Berenice's emotions were written well enough to rouse empathy from the reader and I, as the artist, am absolutely ECSTATIC to receive such praise for the design elements. The deadly medicinal vibe was exactly what I was going for. You have made both our days, thank you for playing our first game <333
Haven't finished it yet, but great story and art so far!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the rest of it as much as we did creating it ^^ <3
